Gantt Guild

About

Entry-level project management has a gatekeeping problem. We're fixing it.

Junior PM job posts ask for three years of experience. Bootcamps charge thousands or take a cut of your pay. The PMP needs years you can't get without the job. Gantt Guild trains people properly and charges them nothing. Employers pay a flat fee only when they hire one of our graduates.

Why it's free

A parent returning after five years at home, a veteran leaving the service, a store manager who has run every holiday rush for a decade, a college dropout who taught themselves to code: none of them should have to take on debt or sign away future pay to prove they can run a project.

So the program is free. Not “free until you get a job.” Not “free with an income-share agreement.” Free. You can leave whenever you want, for any reason, and you'll owe us nothing.

How we pay for it

Employers meet our graduates for free at online Career Days. When a company hires someone it met through us, it pays us a flat placement fee once that person starts, much as it would pay a recruiter, but without the percentage of salary. Some companies also ask us to keep training the person they hired for another 6 to 12 months (Graduate Support), and we run live training for companies' existing teams.

Students never pay, and the fee never limits them. It's an agreement between the employer and us: graduates aren't part of it, can apply for and accept any job they like, and never see a cent of it taken from their pay.

That model keeps us honest. We only earn when employers hire our graduates and come back for more. Training people badly would put us out of business.

What we believe

  • Real work beats theory. Every week ends in deliverables a sponsor would recognize, written in the tools companies use.
  • Standards are kind. Clear standards and honest review are how people get good fast. Vague praise isn't.
  • AI is a power tool, not an oracle. Our graduates use an agent every week and check everything it says.
  • A portfolio beats a certificate. Employers should see your work before they interview you.
  • A fee should never cost anyone a job. If ours ever stands between a graduate and an offer, we'd rather waive it.
  • Leaving early is a win if you're leaving for a job.
Outwork the system. Outlearn the gatekeepers. Outbuild the giants. From the opening page of Projects, For Real

Lead instructor

Mohit Bhardwaj

Founder and Head of Engineering, Dart Browser. Author, Projects, For Real.

Mohit is the founder and Head of Engineering at Dart Browser, where he leads the teams that design, build and ship the browser.

His work sits where engineering, product and the rest of the business meet: where plans meet people, budgets, customers and deadlines. He wrote Projects, For Real as the book he wanted when he first had to run work that crossed teams and functions: one that explains the theory clearly, then shows exactly what the documents, meetings, decisions and trade-offs look like inside a real company.

He teaches every live class in the program himself.

The textbook

Projects, For Real

How projects, products and the business around them actually work. Released openly, so anyone can learn from it.

Most project management books teach one project at a time, as if the project manager had nothing else going on. Real work isn't like that. Projects, For Real follows four projects through a full fiscal year inside a large, all-remote software company, and shows where they collide.

Every chapter has the same rhythm: the concept explained clearly, how a thoughtful company does it in practice, a case where one of the four projects hits it head-on, and the judgment an experienced practitioner would bring. Parts XI to XVII add the core of a first-year MBA, and Part XVIII is a field guide to the tools.
